About The Artist

Thank You for visiting my Fine Art website!

I was raised in Michigan and have been a self-taught artist from an early age. I earned my art degree in Florida and have participated in  several group and solo shows. My original work is held in private collections across the country.

I was raised on library books, exploring the outdoors, drawing for hours, radio, science-fiction film, and Sunday comics.

I take a multi-disciplinary approach to my creative work, so categorizing myself can be challenging. Currently in my oil paintings I am exploring a fascination with science, outer space phenomena, mythology, and dynamic relationships between light and color.

I love the idea that art and creativity can bridge divides. Art unites people across time and space; it has the power to inform, inspire, calm, or awe us. It can serve as a conduit to bring our imaginations together in new ways, tell our stories, and honor our dreams.

My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products. .

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science." -Albert Einstein

Every painting starts with a vision, but not always a plan.
Many of my astronomy oil paintings are on stretched canvas or hard board surfaces primed with black gesso. I primarily use linseed oil instead of mineral spirits. Most space paintings are comprised of multiple layers of glazes, which can take months to dry.
Very few paintings make their way to print media. Oil paintings are much more difficult to reproduce digitally since they cannot be scanned like other work.
You can find more in-depth exploration of my techniques and process on Patreon.

"Have I told you how much I love this painting? It's the only art I own that changes with the light."

"I love him so much! I have him framed and am working on his wall space. It means the world to me to have your art in my house."

"The moons you sent are all beautiful, it's so hard to choose which one I want!"

"You know what I love about this? I can hang it any way I want - there is no "up" in space!"

"I want to go there."

"It makes me so happy. I put it up on my bookshelf and it's the first thing I see every morning."
